Amanda joined BridgePoint in 2016 after spending two decades as a successful litigator in private practice. As Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel at BridgePoint, Amanda leads the company's legal and risk management teams and has directed product development initiatives across several new business verticals. Amanda’s intuitive risk management skills, practical legal experience, and extensive knowledge of the Canadian legal market make her a key strategic member of the senior executive team during a time of exceptional growth in BridgePoint's business.
Well regarded by her peers and colleagues, Amanda is a strong leader with exceptional judgment who supports BridgePoint’s core business, improves the client experience and works tirelessly to quickly and efficiently identify and manage risk. She is a champion for women in the workplace and for the entirety of her career she has focused on elevating women's voices at all levels of decision-making and heads an all-female legal team of which she is very proud.
Her expert opinion is regularly sought as a contributor to legal industry publications such as LexisNexis, and she is a frequent presenter on the topic of innovation in legal payment solutions and legal lending. Amanda gives back to the community by providing volunteer mentorship to law students and lawyers alike and providing pro bono legal services to The Fresh Start Project, a not-for-profit organization helping survivors transition from shelter environments. Amanda obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.
