Ian joined Bridgepoint as Interim CFO in September 2023. He has experience as CFO in both private and public companies and over 35 years of experience in the financial services sector.
Prior to Bridgepoint, Ian was the CFO at Ether Capital, one of the leading, publicly listed crypto currency companies in Canada and the CFO of Knowledge First Financial, a $7 billion asset management specialist for educational saving.
Ian’s industry experience includes 17 years as an investment banker in Toronto and London with RBC Dominion Securities and National Bank Financial. At NBF, he was the Managing Director responsible for the financial services sector (banks, lifecos, asset managers). He also was the founder of two asset management companies, Criterion Investments and Multi-fund Income Trust ($129 million IPO in 1997). Ian launched Canada’s first water fund and first clean energy fund in 2007 and was a member of the federal government’s Expert Panel on Climate Adaptation in 2017/18.
Ian has multiple designations, including the ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors, Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), and CFO for IIROC. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics (MSc. Finance & Accounting) and Ivey School of Business (HBA) from Western University.
